The Aran Islands

These beautiful island are off the coast of Ireland. There are three islands all next to each other, but you can only visit the biggest or smallest island. There are boats that go to the islands from both Galway and Clare, taking about 30 minutes each way.

I was lucky enough to visit the bigger island where i took a horse ride all the way around the island. There are actually about 1000 people living on the three islands and I was able to visit the cemetery and a little pub that looked as if it had been there for centuries.

One of the coolest things about the islands is the dolphin that roams the islands. She came right up to the side of the boat and the locals told us about how she lives between the islands and loves to visit the tourists. They told us she has been there ever since she was a baby and that she is part of their history.
